Job Description:
The incumbent in this position will have responsibilities for coordinating patient care for a specified team within the inpatient mental health unit. As an experienced practitioner, you will act as a lead hand and provide specialized clinical expertise, clinical coordination, and support to your assigned team.? In consultation with the program manager, the clinical coordinator is responsible for the efficient functioning of their assigned team. The routine procedures are generally predetermined but independent judgment is an integral part of the position.

Education
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
- Current PART and CPR certification.
Other Education and Training
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
Experience
- Minimum of three years recent experience in inpatient mental health services
Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to problem-solving utilizing conflict resolution skills and decision making abilities.
- Demonstrates self direction.
- Demonstrates ability to delegate.
- Demonstrates ability to apply the Mental Health Act in a case management approach
- Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to implement a Solution Focused approach to case management.
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change.
- Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal/consultative relationships.
- Demonstrates ability to facilitate the implementation, evaluation and ongoing design of the current nursing model.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the mental health needs of adults and their families, and a practical application of a broad range of clinical interventions.
Other Information
- Current registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nursing Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) required
