Sr. Data Analyst, Data Engineering
The Data Engineering team at Loblaw is seeking a Senior Data Analyst with background in data analytics, cloud, and relational databases. We are currently in the process of modernizing the data infrastructure onto cloud technologies to unlock the value of our data and drive richer insights to our business partners
As the Sr. Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to support large data initiatives by applying their expertise in acquiring, analyzing, and manipulating data to identify insights and data patterns. Candidate will be responsible for crafting and maintaining data requirements, transformations, and system documentation.
What You’ll Do:

Responsible for the extraction and analysis of sophisticated information from a variety of databases, as well as the transformation of extracted data from large and disconnected datasets into insights suitable for presentation to various audiences, utilizing necessary tools and languages like Python, SQL, etc.

Work collaboratively with business and analytics groups on cross-functional projects and data initiatives to solve business problems.

Develop capabilities to identify areas of opportunity and improve business processes, data architecture and reporting efficiency.

Develop documentation, including UML diagrams, such as sequence and data flow diagrams, to support data architecture and processes.

Collaborate with diverse agile teams to assist with the implementation of sophisticated and innovative features.
What You Bring:
-
University Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Information Systems is preferred.

Demonstrated ability in using sophisticated data extraction and manipulation tools (GCP, Teradata, AWS, etc.). Proven track record in Data mining working with large relational databases.

Experience in conducting business analysis to capture requirements from non-technical stakeholders.

Superb analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only to manipulate but also derive relevant interpretations from data.

Shown knowledge of the data management lifecycle, including experience with data quality and metadata management.
