Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA’s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Server through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals and a staff of over 100 serving approximately 1000 students.
GCA has an opportunity for a part time, casual Theatre Technician who will be responsible for operating and maintaining sound and lighting equipment for rental events scheduled during evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will ensure that all technical aspects of rental events are executed flawlessly, providing a high-quality experience for our renters. This position reports to the GCA Rental Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain sound, projection, live-streaming and lighting equipment for a variety of rental events
Collaborate with GCA rental coordinator and rental event organizers to understand and fulfill technical requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during events
Ensure proper storage and care of equipment before and after events
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Provide excellent customer service and support to event organizers and guests

Qualifications
Proven experience in operating sound, projection, live-streaming, and lighting equipment in a live event setting
Proficiency with sound mixing consoles, lighting control boards, and related technical equipment
Strong knowledge of audio and lighting principles and techniques
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
Excellent communication skills and the ability work effectively with a variety of clients
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required by rental schedules
