THE OPPORTUNITY: WAREHOUSE SHIPPING/RECEIVING SUPPORT ON-CALL (TECHNICAL AND RESOURCE SUPPORT A)
In this position, you will:
Maintain warehouse supplies, equipment, parts, stacking materials in storage yard and perform other warehouse tasks
Oversee the dismantling, placement and sorting of all materials into the proper recycling streams
Assist in the dispatch of stores to outside locations
Issue tools supplies and equipment and record simple distribution records
Assist in receiving, unpacking, checking, sorting and storing a wide variety of Stores items
Check materials not used on jobs, return them to the workshop and ensure that proper return record records are kept
Operate Forklift
Assist in the physical inventory count
Provide technical and resource support to the department
Perform other work within the job band as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of Grade 12 and one (1) year post-secondary training
Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience
Experience with warehouse machinery required
ITA Certificate of Qualification (Warehousing or Parts Person) an asset
Must possess or be willing to obtain W.H.M.I.S. and forklift certificates.
Must have a valid B.C.’s driver’s license
Must be able to lift, carry and manoeuvre heavy materials (minimum 50lbs)
Must possess or be willing to obtain an Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) certificate and will be required to perform OFA2 duties if assigned by the Supervisor. OFA2 attendants may, the direction of Employee Services, be required to perform emergency coverage at other locations.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $29.13/hour (paid as 7 hours/day) plus 20% in lieu of benefits (145 if contributing to a municipal pension plan).
