Job Summary:
As a Health & Safety Lead, you are responsible for applying professional Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) practices at a work/project site. You provide advice and recommendations to operations and clients on health and safety matters while providing guidance to HS&E personnel. You are an experienced Safety Lead who consistently conveys professional judgment and can build effective relationships across all levels.

Responsibilities:

Provide advice to operations regarding Ledcor’s Health and Safety Management System, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle

Monitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements

Assists in the coordination and completion of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits and incident investigations

Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors as well as any identified corrective actions

Conduct the HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding

Support the coordination, organization and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings

Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials
Requirements:
-
4+ years’ experience in Industrial construction or related industry, with relevant health and safety experience

Must hold CSO, NCSO or CRSP qualifications

In-depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with an aptitude for learning various computer
software systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills.

Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standards.

Ability to solve complex problems by evaluating existing solutions and exercising independent judgement to drive effective
outcomes.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract

Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements
