Purpose

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Technical Training Supervisor will coordinate and support technical skills training programs at a Site level, building and maintaining effective working relationships with key operating group stakeholders and external training providers.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the PGM training team while aligning with the training COE standards and procedures
  • Weekly communication with the COE to ensure alignment and progress on the integration to the COE Technical Training objectives
  • Manage relationships with contract service providers, vendor support and other stakeholders associated with technical training programs
  • Coordinate and execute the delivery of training programs to meet technical training requirements
  • Manage and coordinate the scheduling of training sessions, communication with training registrants, and data entry for the training database
  • Assist with the identification and assessment of continuous improvement opportunities within the Technical Training program
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing direct reports to meet role expectations, and further grow as part of ateam succession plan to advance in the company
  • Obtain and maintain any necessary training and or certifications to deliver effective training services to satisfy business needs and training plans
  • Guiding the trainers on measurement and evaluation tools which demonstrate the effectiveness of performance interventions.
  • Provide input on site Training Budget
  • Provide feedback on Training/Operational/Safety procedures
  • Monitor and review training needs analysis process as well as planned and delivered training hours
  • Conducting Critical control verification as defined under Health and Safety objectives

Training & Experience

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate openness, autonomy and facilitation skills
  • Experience with adult educational programs
  • Process orientation/continuous improvement mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education/Mining or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years Mining or other heavy industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years training experience
  • Previous experience in professional education in an industrial environment

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify problems and create solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required
  • Ability to manage/organize time and conflicting priorities in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to obtain MSHA blue card (MSHA Instructors Certification)
  • Advanced interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to adapt when change occurs

Working Conditions

This position is located in Timmins, ON. As such, if you do not live in the area, relocation is required.
The schedule for this position is 4 days of work, followed by 3 days off
