Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values of Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre (HSC), the Coordinator, Spiritual Health Education is responsible for: coordinating, facilitating and administering the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program; acting as a resource for in-service education for all health care disciplines as requested; participating on committees; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Three (3) years hospital spiritual health care experience.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Master’s degree in Divinity or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Supervisor (teaching) certification with Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).
  • Must maintain certification.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Involved in a daily spiritual practice.
  • Open and respectful of “non-traditional” spiritual/existential paths, and able to teach in a diverse and inclusive manner.
  • Experience and/or training in Adult Education.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of various common software applications which may include, but is not limited to, spreadsheet, word processing, database, internet and email applications.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work with accuracy.
