Production Supervisor

Under the responsibility of the Unit Manager, the position holder supervises the production employees in his sector (may work in various sectors)

  • This is a hands-on working supervisor role. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the work shift;
  • Responsible for the safety of direct reports, and the quantity and quality of production output within an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environment;
  • Participates in the hiring, training, and discipline of the employees under his/her responsibility;
  • Ensures that the various site rules are respected;
  • Works collaboratively with Production Supervisors in other departments and on other shifts;
  • Helps with and implements the production schedule. Reports production in AS-400 and Efficiency Report. Production scheduling skills considered an asset;
  • Maintains an inventory of quarantined materials, controls their status in Excel, AS-400, and works with Quality Control to recycle this inventory using acceptable manufacturing practices. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills considered an asset;
  • Participates in maintaining and improving ISO standards in the manufacturing, handling, packing and labelling of products in addition to developing or reviewing work methods and practices;
  • Contributes as an Internal Auditor. ISO 19011 Internal Auditor skills considered an asset;
  • Ensures compliance to regulatory environmental, health and safety (EHS) standards, rules and regulations. Health and safety committee co-chair experience considered an asset;
  • EHS reports are initiated and completed properly within defined time limits;
  • permanent and appropriate corrective measures are taken immediately;
  • all necessary inspections are being conducted properly;
  • Leads weekly efficiency (OEE) improvement team meeting;
  • Conducts shift crossover meetings;
  • Participates in the performance evaluation process;
  • Continually looks to optimize the production process;
  • Any other related tasks and responsibilities identified within the ISO Integrated Systems Manual and/or the Unit Manager.
