Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist 2 to join the Electroencephalography (EEG) team at Richmond Hospital in Richmond, BC. Apply today to join our team!
As a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist 2 you will:
- Work without general supervision to perform technical functions related to diagnostic neurophysiology.
- Perform duties such as conducting various tests including Electroencephalography (E.E.G), Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction studies, Electromyography (E.M.G.) and Magnetic Evoked Potentials (M.E.P.).
- Record measurements, formulating technical reports for interpretation by medical staff in clinical diagnosis.
- Perform operating room monitoring procedures, as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduation with Diploma of Technology in Electrophysiology.
- Two years’ recent, related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Successful writing of the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (CBRET) certification exam and the Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC) certification exam.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Electroneurophysiology practice related to conducting various diagnostic tests including E.E.G., Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, EMG, and M.E.P.
- Broad knowledge of Electroneurophysiology theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.
- Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with Electroneurophysiology equipment.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, leader, and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to teach/demonstrate.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to the assessment of clients.
- Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
