What is the opportunity?

The Analyst, Source Data & Document Traceability, is responsible for participating in Transaction Testing by requesting and validating source documents based on the Business Process and Product being tested. Ensure consistency in approach, identification of data anomalies, adherence to internal processes and assist in identifying efficiencies.

What will you do?

Source Data and Document Traceability (SDDT)

  • Assist in Transaction Testing cycles; request and review source document based on the scope of the test working with first, second and third line of defense.

  • Assist in collaborating with Business Stakeholders to ensure the SDDT Directory is understood and maintained.

  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with our stakeholders are adhered too during transaction testing and report on SLA metrics.

  • Develop knowledge of the Regulatory Reports and RBC Product Classes become a valuable team resource.

  • Assist with project work as required (e.g. regulatory deliverables).

Review and Maintain the effectiveness of Business Processes

  • Maintain the SDDT Directory by leveraging CDE Memo updates/refreshes.

  • Assist in the maintenance of documented processes and procedures to support SDDT Directory and its processes.

  • Identify and communicate options to optimize SDDT processes.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with source document providers and consumers to stay current on source document requirements.

  • Collaborate with other Data Management Offices, Data Custodians and Data Stewards to understand regulatory reporting standards and best practices.

  • Promote the Source Data and Document Traceability Directory as required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience handling and deriving information from large data sets.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technology staff at different levels of seniority.

  • Understanding of retail and commercial banking products, policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently with general supervision/oversight to achieve short-term (daily/weekly/monthly) performance expectations.

  • Strong ability to utilize the Microsoft Suite of tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis tools such as Excel, Visio, SQL, Python, etc.

  • Familiarity with data governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra.

  • Familiarity with agile methodology and agility tools such as Jira.
