JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the head of the Division of Urology and the medical director concerned, the urologist carries out the study, diagnosis and treatment of abnormalities and diseases of the genitourinary tract of the male and the urinary tract of the female.
The urologist provides care to patients of all ages. This includes providing consultation for urgent and non-urgent presentations, performing diagnostic procedures and providing acute and long-term medical management, active monitoring and/or surgical management of the patient’s condition
The urologist also works with other health professionals to deliver diversified and comprehensive care to patients and their loved ones.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree from a recognized medical school and residency leading to licensure in urology.
A recognized medical school is a school that meets the following criteria:
- Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States);
OR
- Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools with a note for Canada.
- Recognized certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in orthopedic surgery.
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick;
- Active member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association;
- Member of the New Brunswick Medical Society;
- Privileges with Vitalité Health Network;
- Registration with New Brunswick Medicare;
- Experience (one to three years) considered an asset;
- Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent may be considered;
