Job Description: The Nurse Clinician works with the supervisor for Street Health and Sexual Health Programs. They integrate experience, advanced level skills and knowledge in sexually transmitted infections and blood born pathogens, contraception using theory, and principles of adult learning and harm reduction. They provide direct client service as well as training/orientation of new staff in several areas including: client needs assessment, diagnosis/treatment of STI’s and provision of contraceptives. They are responsible for updating work standards and policies to align with best practice and provincial guidelines. They are responsible for clinical coordination of outreach and fixed site service, notification and contact tracing; client and staff education/orientation; resource development; and participation in research for the target population. The position works in collaborative consult with Managers, Supervisors, Public Health Nurses, Physicians and community stakeholders.

Experience
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives
- Five (5) years nursing experience in the specific clinical area
Education
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate (TDG)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Master of Nursing is acceptable
- CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
