S2324-38 Educational Assistant – Ecole Plamondon School
We are seeking multiple Full Time (1.0 fte) temporary Educational Assistants commencing as soon as possible. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. The position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.
Ecole Plamondon School is located in the village of Plamondon with approximately 300 students in grades ECS to 12 and offers instruction primarily in English. French and Russian are offered as second languages. Preference will be given to applicants who have :
Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
Training and skills that would be an asset include:
Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation
SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
