Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Mission, the Spiritual Care Practitioner is accountable for the provision of spiritual and emotional care to all patients in conformance with their faith and their need for help in coping with the trauma of illness, pain, and death. The Spiritual Care Practitioner ensures compassionate ministry to the ill, the dying, and the troubled, regardless of race, creed, gender, or social status.

Experience

  • 3-5 yrs experience providing culturally sensitive spiritual/emotional support

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Other Education and Training

  • Post-graduate training in theology, pastoral counselling or related field
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Clinical Pastoral Education – minimum of two (2) units
  • Recognition by a faith community based on standing and accreditation
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • CPE Specialist status preferred
